The HELIX is an exciting project representing Falkirk Council’s
commitment to growth and development within the Falkirk and
Grangemouth communities.

A partnership between Falkirk Council, British Waterways and Central
Scotland Forest Trust with additional funding from the the Big
Lottery Fund, the Helix is a key project within the “My Future’s in
Falkirk” economic regeneration and will bring a positive, long-
lasting impact to both the landscape and communities.

The project is a combination of greenfield site development and the
upgrade and development of the exisitng canal and waterway system to
be accessed and enjoyed by everyone. In addition, there will also be...

• Creation of a unique outdoor space with free access to a central
park, woodland and pathed areas, cycleways and water features
• Re-connection of the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Forth Estuary
including development of a range of water-based activities
• Commission of major public artworks

The team is made up of dedicated and professional people from all

Falkirk and Grangemouth areas.
